Our consciousness is not able to register and analyze all impulses and if so the reaction is very slow.
It is our unconscious, which is catching all around us and is able to react very fast and evaluate the
impulses comprehensively.
My decisions are mostly based on logical suggestions, but my experience taught me that the first
impression is very important. I was not disappointed by it in the last 5 years. I cannot say that I
always listen to the first impression 100%, but I always take it into consideration. Not only by hiring
new employees but also by managing project can be first impression very helpful. If my first
impression is wrong I pay more attention to the topic and double check it all again.
Training of the first impression
Do not listen to the first impression if you are not skilled enough. You need to have working,
personal skills and perception of the first impression too. It is good to write your first impressions down,
then you can have a look back if it was right or wrong. You can always learn from a mistake and
improve the first impression feeling. Your first impression will over time grew so much that in the
future you can 100% count on it not only at work but also in your personal life.
I was also taught by experience, sometimes even by negative experience. For example, I hired a guy
only because of logical reasons, although my first impression was not positive. Later on, I know that it
was a mistake. On the contrary, when the first impression was positive from the very beginning the
cooperation worked very well.
Believe in your first impression, work on it, it will help you a lot and will become strong competitive
advantage.
